Transferring Television to DVD?

I was wondering what people use as far the the easiest/best quality for transferring your TIVO saved shows to DVD?    Also, do they actually work and is the quality that good

I was also wondering if the technology was simple like that of the VHS where you can STOP and RECORD at will ( to essentially fast-forward commercials).

I got nothing for ya on this one. I just use Window Media Center to record shows.

Linesman, I have windows media center on my computer, so how do I record movies or shows?

You need to have the TiVO desktop software installed on your PC.
This PC also has to be networked w/ the TiVO.

I'm sure there are other ways but this seems the easiest.

Make sure you have a TV card in your computer.  If not, you can pick one up at pretty any much big box store.  Best Buy probably best selection.

A usb one is best if you don't want to get inside your computer. After that you can start media center and it should give you a walk through on setting up the tuner.

Or the tuner you purchase will have viewing and recording software also.  I just like media center pretty well.
