Computers have been around for a very short span of time.  For the younger set they were around since WW II, but not on your desktops till the early 70&#x27;s and not as you know them till the early 80&#x27;s.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;You have your flash drives, Ipod Nano&#x27;s and micro SD cards that go into your phones.  But how did that storage look 50&#x27;s years ago and how has it changed over the years ?&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Well take a look down memory lane. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Make sure to take a look at the bottom right of the pics for the descriptions.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;You can see the scientific reason that hard drives ended up as a 5.25 inch size to begin with in PC&#x27;s. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Enjoy

Very cool &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; I remember back in 19&amp;79, our hs electronics class got an Apple II computer.............big deal back then. It didn&#x27;t even have a HDD.........everything had to be stored on floppys. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; Wish I had been interested back then.......

In ten years, our cellphones would be more powerful than our fastest quad-speed processor PC's today, and might feature projectors as an antidote to the problem of small screens being a hindrance to truly universal mobile web surfing. Heck, even our cars might have more processing power than our laptops now (think GPS, auto parking, speed limiters as standard)

&#xD;&#xA;My God, I still have some 100MB disk and a drive.  Also have a shark drive, is was faster, had 250MB disk and smaller than the zip drive

I recently downloaded a C64 emulator for shits and giggles to re-live my "wonder years".The O/S and a bizillion games/programs are only like 400 MB!!!

I had a TRS-80 from radio shack&#xD;&#xA;That thing was the bomb!!!&#xD;&#xA;I also saw a recent episode of How its Made and whatever company they were showing was still using a PC with 5.25" floppys

now they have solid state drives.  like the one thats in the computer im using right now.  its fastttttt.  windows boots up in about 11 seconds... still very expencive though for regular consumers at about $300 for 80gigs
