surf the channel question

when i click on some movies the site wants me to download divx...something like that. i tried once and when i tried again firefox crashed. i had to remove the plug-in. am i missing something?

No, should be pretty straight forward.  What happens when you use IE?

i get the blocked restricted bar. it asks me to add and run ActiveXControl. is this safe?

Yes, it is safe.  But make sure your antivirus is up to date, just to be on the safe side
