I just bought an lcd tv, it has this pc connection so I can connect my pc to the tv and use it as a monitor.
My question is this. Can I somehow use this with my lap-top ?
In other words can I hook up my laptop to this tv ? My lap-top does not have the connection like my pc does.
What can I do ?
thanks,
It is possible. You will need to get a converter. They make converter kits, such as VGA to S-Video and VGA to RCA Composite. If your LCD is high definition it should also have a DVI connection. Than you could use a VGA to DVI converter.
Here is a great article on the different type of outputs for LCD TVs and any TV for that matter. Also lets you know what resolution is supported and the best for quality.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore assistance....Good luck....

well afyter reading hte manual for my tv I found it has a PC output. basically it's a VGA connection and the manual tells me to just hook up the lapt-top (which has a VGA connection as well ) to the tv and that's it.
Well I tried that, I bought a VGA cable that has VGA on both sides and connected the TV to the lap-top, but guess what ? It didn't work.
so now I'm thinking it might be the lap-top, do I have to do something to the lap-top as far as updating something in it, or do I have to get a video card and install it on the lap-top ?
I'm confused, sorry for taking up your time but I would appreciate some of your input.
Thanks bro,

Its no problem. I enjoy helping out anyway I can. With a laptop your VGA connection to your TV, you have to switch the function of the display. You should have function keys to switch between either one or show the display on both. Find your FN key and look for a key that has a key with 2 monitors, a monitor in a square. Hold the FN key down and click on the key that has a symbol resembling what I just wrote. If you can't find it, let me know the model of your laptop and I will get that info to you....
Good Luck Bro.....
