I'm in the market for a new tv and was looking for some feedback. I heard that the plasmas can get ghosting after a few years. Is DLP the same as LCD? I'm looking for one in the 50 inch range. Also, is the measurement still taken diagonally? Thanks in advance for any comments.

Plasma, plasma, plasma.... DLP's just seem to still have a few too many problems. They are completely different than LCD's. You won't have any ghosting issue's with the Plasma as long as you don't have the same pic on if for weeks at a time. So unless you are using it in a kisok you will be fine.
The LCD's are getting better but just are not quite there yet. The measurement is still taken diagonally, but it's a true size. Not like the old monitors where a 19" was actually a 17.5.

Depends what resolution you are going for. Personally, I have 2 DLP's that ate both 1080i. I'd like to get a TV that's 1080p...although TV will never be broadcast at 1080p, it's ideal for PS3, Blu Ray and High Def movies. I work in the TV production field, personally I like DLP's. they are the best for sports and action movies. That's just me. Its kind of like "to each his own." good luck
