I went to my Sprint store (I already have a Sprint phone) and tried it out for half an hour. My wife loved it so much she got put on the waiting list, and should get her's next week. I liked playing around with it, even signed in to my covers account and read a couple threads on it. The call clarity, when I called my wife's phone, was very very good. The touch screen was better than the other smart phones I've played with, and the internet loaded faster, as did most apps, and I enjoyed it overall. I am still not used to using the touch screen, and I often hit the wrong place when trying to hit a certain thread here on covers lol. But overall, as I said, it seemed cool. The keyboard was easy to use, if you've ever used a small keyboard before. A definite but, IMO. I will be getting one in August.

I like Pre so much better than the clunky square iphone. Only thing iphone has on it is a huge headtart on thousands of apps. But Pre already has some of the most useful apps and I think they are going to be added real fast. The mutitasking is the real killer. You can have your calendar, email, browser, radio, etc all open at the same time, like on a computer. iphone? Not so much.
I love this device!

And the camera is downright incredible. No video recording yet though, but they can add that and other stuff with OTA updates. This is an extremely worthy competitor to the iphone, esp for those whose AT&T coverage is downright awful. Would never go with AT&T. I'm sure some feel that way about Sprint, but where I am the coverage is very good and the price is better than AT&T. Verizon will get Pre next year too.

i have an iphone so i am biased, but i don't see the big deal with having a to press two buttons to go to internet to my calender, it's not that hard to switch from one to the other
i don't use it for business or anything so maybe it makes a difference - iphone is the best, imo - so many intuitive features that just make sense - but not too familiar with pre tho - just my 2 cents

But I don't think you can keep, for example, multiple web pages open and live at the same time, can you? Pretty obvious how great this is for a gambler, you can have webpages to your 5 sportsbooks open and live simultaneously and easily move back and forth between them, not to mention Covers too, of course.
Pre is already better than iphone imo and it was just released and there will be many OTA updates and improvements to come. WebOS is just a better platform. Also just think the shape and feel of the phone is so much better, esp as a phone. iphone/ipod is great as a music player, but just not shaped wel to hold as a phone. Its clunky. Pre fits really well in your palm, no pun intended.

I got a Pre yesterday and wanted to know of anyone else has issues logging into 5dimes.com? Every time I try to log in, it redirects me back to the login screen and duplicates the top frame. I can log in fine from an ipod touch and from opera mobile (old phone). Damn this is inconvenient..... Other than that, great phone.

I just tried and logged in no problem. Are you sure you entered your account number and password correctly?

depeche - you can have multiple pages open, not live tho
Right, that's a HUGE difference. On Pre, ou can be logged in to 5 sportsbooks and go easily between them without getting logged out. I've tried this on my ipod touch and you have to close and re-open and login. Just not feasible. This is a really big difference. WebOS is so much better than Apple's OS. All of the areas where iphone has an edge in right now can be easily remedied by OTA updates, and I think they will. There are some pretty simple missing features on the Pre, probably because they wanted to get it to market already, but they can all be easily updated OTA as they go along. The phone design and OS just in itself is so much better though that in a year this will easily be the better phone except among iphone fanboys. I've got an ipode touch and I like it as a music player, but the Pre is a better phone.

Hey Depeche2,
You were right, Im an idiot. When I pushed the red button to take off number lock, i was hitting the next letter key too fast and putting in the wrong PW. The odd thing was that it didnt tell me username or password was incorrect. Thanks.
