Just released today from IRobot. I'm getting the 560. $279.99 with "MSPORT" discount code. Looks damn cool. Original popular model has been vastly redesigned with more power and more features.

Has anyone used a roomba on tile floors? Does it get stuck on grout lines? How does it work on dog hair? Thinking about buying one and any insight is appreciated.

Been using my new Roomba 560 all over my house and I love it! Picks up a ton of debris. Extremely easy to use. Doesn't get stuck. This thing is really amazing.
It really sucks too. Apparently it sucks 100% more than the older models.
Highly recommended.

I also have a Scooba now (floor washing). I love these things. I much prefer toying around with and cleaning these things to actually personally cleaning my floors. They work great.

I've got a Roomba and its awesome. So much less work to do. Very interested in the Scooba.....does it clean floors well? Does it leave them wet and streaky?

I'm interested in getting both the Roomba and the Scooba for my new home. Does the new Roomba work well on carpet or just on hard surface floor? I'm concerned with its sucking power. Bought the Discovery model when it first came out, didn't like it so ended up returning it.
Thanks in advance...

It does not leave my floors streaky. The only thing I find is I need to set it in drying mode 3-4 extra times to get it dry. At the end of a normal operation it does 5 minutes of drying, which isn't enough. So you just have to run the drying operation 5 minutes at a time another 3 or 4 times. Otherwise, yeah, it works great. I can actually walk barefoot downstairs now without getting dirty black feet.

It works well on both carpet and hard surfaces and transitions well. I never owned the old model so I an't caompare but they say that the new model has DOUBLE the suction power. Is it going to vacuum quite as well as someone pushing a high powered vacuum over an area a bunch of times? No. But let it run a room for awhile, go away and in 90 minutes the floors will look pretty darn good and the receptacle will have all sorts of dirt and dust in there. It works.
