Lippsman or any computer helpers

Yesterday my comp froze so I shut it down started back up and ran malawarebytes. It found 8 viruses. Everything seems ok now but my windows updater won't work. It says windows could not search for updates error CODE 80072EFD has occured. I use AVG 9.0. Any suggestions? Someone suggested these:

K9 Web Protection

Secunia Personal Software Inspecto

WOT - Safe Browsing Tool

Just noticed my IE doesn't work. I never use IE I use Firefox.

Just for the hell of it I tried to open Safari and got this message.: “There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP).”

My firefox seems to work fine.

Do I need mobileme and bonjour? I don't use iphone or any other device?

I think those are both Apple processes do you or anyone who has access to your computer have an ipod.

This page has a few suggestions for that error:

No

Any luck yet ?  Did the link that jack provided help ?

yup fixed it... would you have any idea how I got these viruses? Is it safe to delete prefetch files ? Do I need mobileme and bonjour because I don't use iphone or any other device?

You don't need them.

you can safely delete files in the prefetch folder.  In fact, if you had some viruses I would delete the files in that folder, I have encountered in the past a few times a stray virus file in there
