Lippsman

I am moving in a month to Lake mohawk NJ

Lakeside baby!! anyway I am desperately trying  to find out what cable company I am stuck with. I think its  Service Electric but I cant find any info on how good the cable modem is and also the actaul service. Can u give me a link for reviews?

by the way my zip is 07871

It's a very interesting place there.   It looks like everything will come out of Sparta.

Service electric is your cable provider.  There really isn't a great deal about them out there.  From what I heard they are pretty much a middle tier type of company.  You can do your usual bundle type of stuff with them if you want the phone over IP also.

Thanks. I have found out that thier highest speed is 10 mbps. Cablevision/opyonline is at 14

Im just hoping there isnt much of a difference. I dont get it. Sparta is very rich,. Im suprised they havent demanded more. Is 20 to 14 a huge difference?

It's really not a huge difference if you are just cruising the net and doing some causual downloads.  The real test is how fast is thier upspeed.  That's where the real difference will be.  Now if you don't upload much stuff it isn't really a big deal.  But they will always cap the upload speed because  they want to keep people from running servers from thier homes.

Well they said thier upload speed is 512 (MB?)  they will soon be improving to 1 gb?

I dont really upload that much. Except to my own PC

I do upload a few pics to shutterfly. Every now and again. How bad will it be?

Also do u like Direct tv? I ordered it but not quite sure about it. Should I buy the insurance for it? (6$ a month)

I like the Direct TV part of the service.  But it they try to sell you the internet part of it, run away.....far away.

That's a very good upload speed by your cable provider.

512 is good? Im suprised. I guess im good then. Thanks as always
