Laptop Questions...

Hey guys -
 
I'm looking to buy a laptop/notebook/netbook this week and need some pointers.  I will spend up to 600 total (besides tax/anti-virus, etc).  I need it only for internet.  I don't play games or download thousands of songs or pictures.  I don't watch movies on computers either.  I don't rip cd's/dvd's.  Just internet!!!
 
I'm wondering how much RAM, and GB I would need.  Also would like to find out about all the processors (Intel Pentum, Duo Core, etc.)
 
If anyone out there can help with some suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.    
 
 
Also - what's the best anti-virus out there?

If you only want it for internet and email.. Best Buy has a Acer for $299 right now w/ 2GB RAM and 160GB HD.  Don't know what state you're from, but check out Frys site also, they usually have some good deals.

For anti-virus, AVG is pretty commonly recommended.  You'll probably want to install Malwarebytes also for spyware.
