Ipod or Zune

This might be a dumb question fellas but here goes...

 

I'm looking to get my wife a MP3 player and she is in love w/ the Ipod Touch.  I think it is pretty sweet but am confused about song purchasing.  I know Ipod has Itunes in which you have to purchase songs for $.99 or $.50. 

 

I'm really wanting a MP3 player for her that we don't have to purchase songs but instead upload them from our PC.  Basically I'm a cheapskate and want to download songs from the internet for free and then upload them 

I say the Zune all the way, you are paying for Apple's advertising by buying a Ipod. With a Zune you won't have any problem with loading songs onto it.  Also it will play videos.

 

You may be able to find some of the 30 Gigs for $99.  They had some of the brown ones at Buy.com for that price last month.

I was thinking the same way.  I was just concerned that I wouldn't be able to download songs from Limeware (or somewhere else) then upload them to the Zune.

 

I can get the 30GB black or red on Amazon for $160 the brown is $173.  Both w/ free shipping...

Those are very good prices.  The only odd thing which I will warn you about is that the Zune won't play .Avi files.  They will need to be converted to .WMV files.

I have an IpodTouch and i have been pretty impressed with it.  I download my songs from limewire and upload them to the Ipod by the way.
