I'm looking to start an online business and I have been trying to figure out what I need to get up and running. I am currently working on an LLC. but not sure what other permits/licenses I will need. Does anyone know if I need to wait until the LLC is formed before I start with a website so that I can register it with the LLC or if I start before and get everything running in my name will I be responsible for that part of the business.(Will I still be protected is my question)
I will not be selling products, only services. If that helps at all. If anyone Knows the steps or has started a web business of their own I would love the input.

Personally I get all of the legal stuff in order before I start with the website.
But go ahead and register your website today so no one else snags it. You can park it as long as you want. Go ahead and get both .com and .net. The rest of them are just a waste of money unless you are doing a non profit thing

devo you can actually go ahead and get the domain registered so it can be part of the legal paper work. And once it is registered you can start the hosting and create the site while the rest of the legal stuff is going on. Even if you had to change the name for some legal reason you won't have to change much to the structure of the site that is already being built. You can build the site and test it but never post it live on your domain. That way when all the legal stuff has gone through and you are ready to go live, your site is done or close to done and you have have to do is make it live.
