https vs http on a public Wi-Fi

Is it safe to log into 5 dimes website in a public Wi-Fi? Is my username and password safe from the bad guys?

I noticed other betting sites such as Intertops.com use https (secured connection) while 5 dimes only use the standard http.

Personally I never do anything that includes money over a public wi-fi.
 
But if you just had to it had better be on a secure site (https)
