I need help trouble shooting a computer/projector problem. I'm hooking up my new NEC portable projector to my laptop. Every time I connect the cords from portable to computer the deskstop backgronds gets fuzzy and distorted. When I play a video from the laptop the picture is slightly fuzzy. How do I fixed this ?

You can just a regular headphone jack adaptor. But it depends on how you want the sound to get out. Some projectors have a small speaker on them that is one step above useless. You can just use some external speakers if it's not a big room of people or you can use the pinjack connector to patch into a sound system.
You may need an adaptor on the other end, usually a quarter inch jack for the sound system.
Glad it's working for you.
