Dell Laptop - Fan Issues

When I start up my Dell Inspiron 2900 it works fine for an hour or so and then when I have my browser open and Mic Word or something it sounds like the fan runs on high and continues to. It will intermittently slow down, but 95% of the time sounds like the fan or something is on high. Any solutions? Someone told me set something under it so air flows underneath.

Yeah if you buy something like this they can help a bit but if its more of an internal problem then those external fans dont do you much good

Okay. Thanks man!  I will give this a shot! I need my laptop up a couple inches also that i may as well try and kill 2 birds here.

Check out the DELL website.  In the forums many other people have had the same problem with DELL laptops.  Also, check to see if your BIOS is up to date.  They may have already addressed this problem with BIOS A06.
