Dell Dimension 3000....

Anyone else have this desktop model out there?  I was wondering if you are having the same problem that I am having with it and what you did to solve it.  My problem is that sometimes the process gets so damn loud that it sounds like its going to take off.  The sound is really annoying after awhile and I am constantly having to put it on stand by so I can hear myself think.  I am guessing that its a fan issue but I just want to make sure if I am not the only one having this problem.  Any advice would be very helpful, thanks in advance.

P.S.  I am about send this fucking computer through the window if it doesn't fucking shut up real soon.

It could also be the case fan.  But just get the ol' can of air, take the side off and spray the CPU fan pretty well.  In fact blow the whole thing out.  The 3000 actually came on two different flavors.  One had a heatsink and fan on top of the CPU and the other just had a heatsink on the cpu and a seperate fan than blows on it.

yeah.. take the air can and try to blow everything out of there.  sounds like a similar problem that I had on an old desktop.  eventually it led to the power supply going out and needing to be replaced.
