I regularly delete my history files, in cast the S/O or someone else stumbles upon my laptop. My question then, is there another way for someone , like law enforcement, to view my history, like on the hard drive? And if so is there a way to periodically clean that? I have some sensitive info at times on the computer, with gambling and other activities, that i want to stay safe with, thanks

Oh yes, I can recover almost anything you delete. Information is never erasesd, it's just taken out of the table of contenst. The only way it's ever gone is when something is written over it. And you have no control over that. In fact some stuff that is written over can be brought back.
Start off by getting window washer, that will be a good start. That will protect you from 99% of everyone

I saw an episode of Law & Order one time where this guy was raided and as they were removing his pc, someone noticed a degaussing strip or a big magnet right by the door.. wiped out the hard drive.
Of course, it's all make believe...
