Data extractors?

I was wondering if anyone knows how well these work? I need a program that will pull certain information from web pages that change daily. Is there such a thing? and is that what a data extractor is? If so, what do I look for when buying one?

Are you talking RSS feeds?  If so, just use google reader.  www.google.com/reader

data mining softwares (just google it) also you can use excel web query to automatically update cells onto the worksheet
