Misplaced my recovery disc. I cannot get Windows to load due to the file. Any way to get around this problem without tossing my laptop? It's my backup computer. I'm just trying to maybe salvage it somehow, someway. Thanks in advance.

Most newer laptops come with a recovery partition so you don't need a disc. When you boot up do you have the option of booting to the recovery partition?

If you have a valid OEM Window 7 license sticker with the product key, you can go here and download the ISO and then you can burn to a DVD from a working PC.

My problem is I buy these things and stash the discs thinking I'll have no use for them. Never had a corrupted file situation until now. I always purchased new 'puter before this has come up. Now I'm here an I have a good computer with a broken file and I can't fine my discs. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to replace it. I was just hoping there was a cure before I trashed it. Thanks M_B!

I have the same issue also corrupted file but this time its not in the laptop, an external hard drive. I can still detect the files saved on and when I tried to copy or paste something files, while its in process, it suddenly pops a message that says "device removed unexpectedly". And then when i open the file (in my external hard drive) its corrupted. Does someone can give me a light about this?
