Here is another great deal for a desktop. This has a bit more beef than the Vostro 200 I posted a few days ago. Now this one has Vista instead of Windows XP. The deal is supposed to expire tonight, but I think it may run longer.
System Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ Processor
Windows Vista Home Premium
19-inch LCD Widescreen Monitor
1GB Memory
250GB Hard Drive
16x DVD Burner

This is a much better deal than the other one Lippsman. Don't know if you can find a better deal than this but I already bought this one for my dad charging into my Dell account of course.

I've been doing some research on Window Vista and it seems like there are alot of recommendations that a desktop needs to have around 2GB of memory to run it smoothly. Is this true?
If it is, then I guess I will need to buy memory for the new desktop I just ordered.
BTW, I'm new here so I would like to find out how do you know so much computer anyway? I thought Covers was more of a degenerate forum.

BTW, I have pretty good experience with Dell in the past. Bought a desktop with Dell several years back and just last year, bought the laptop XPS140 through them also.

You don't have to have 2 gig, but as with any computer the more memory the better off you are. 1 gig will do fine with most anything. If you are into photos and graphics you will need 2.

Received the computer today, tested it, worked great!!!
Quick question, I do not have Nero in this computer so I cannot use DVD Shrink anymore. Do you know where I can download a copy of Nero? Dell installed the Roxio program for me but it does not work with the DVD Shrink program.
Thanks in advance!

Actually I only use shrink now to shrink the files. Where they don't update it anymore it doesn't break the protection on about half of the DVD's now........Uh....The legal DVD's that I own that I want to make a backup of course.
I now use DVD decrypter to rip the disk. Then I use DVD Shrink to shrink it to 4.7 gig from the 8.7 that Decrypt makes the ripped file.
I don't even burn the disk, I just save the DVD's files to my computer in the living room. 3 TB's of DVD's baby.
You can get Nero straight from Nero thierselves. The software really is becoming bloatware now though. I think it may even have some ripping software in some of the packages now. I don't really know, I just use Nero for very light stuff. Burning a DVD for someone or just making a data disk. But hell, I don't even do that much anymore, we carry everything on flash drives now.
