From time to time, I will intentionally leave G1 plays off if they are a high line. Today's game would be Philadelphia +1.5 -200. It makes things difficult in the event of chasing. That's not how you want to start a chase. And with the amount of plays available across the board, you can play more without these lines early.
Higher lines later in chases do well. I think it happens to deter you when the win is coming, but try to entice you early.
But if you take the play you wouldn't be wrong...

ah thanks so much for the explanation, that makes total sense. i had already bet it, unfortunately, but that's fine, because i like burnett here better. so since it's going to be -180, will this be a play today?
i've been betting the dog rl on these but also (on some) betting the ml for less than i bet on the rl, so it works out to plus money either way, if the rl hits. if the dog wins, i get odds and a safety net. has anyone else tried doing this? for the back-checking i've done from this season, none of the ml went past 5 games.

Tampa Bay lost last night, but I had them listed as a G1 winner. They should have been a play tonight.
They did win tonight so congrats if you played it. If not, I suggest doing what I'm doing and playing to get the return on the future DP plays. It was only G1 so the investment shouldn't have been that high.
Sorry for the confusion.
