OPEN CHALLENGE

I'm tired of the bubblegum pop around here.. too many people start too many threads professing the all-mighty Holy Grail of Sports Gambling (I say Gambling here, since that is what they do.. meanwhile the proper term is Investing, which less than 2% understand..)


I offer a challenge to all individuals on the Covers.com Forum.  The rules are simple.. Make Money.

You are given a $10K Bankroll.. your mission is to make the most money possible. Your rules are as follows..

1. Your minimum wager is 0.25%. your maximum wager is 25%.

2. You are allowed any kind of betting style. You may flat bet, unit bet, or use a chase style bet.

3. You may play a wager on any open event. There are no limitations on the type of bets allowed, or the number of bets allowed.

4. Contest officially begins January 1st, 2011. There is no close date. Entrants will eventually drop out on their own (much like the threads Thinker starts)

5. Sign up now. You have one week to get your shit together.

I am in.

Am am going to use a system. The system will consist of taking all the systems here and randomly picking 2 plays a day from whatever system my 4 year old son chooses.

I will wager 10% on each play.

How long are you gonna run this for (if you are really serious)?

I will join as well.  I will use top system plays and my own handicapping.  I know I know for a system to really be a system it must be followed but for some reason I just can't allow my cash to go to some bets that I can't find any visible reason to bet.  Its worked for me since 1996-2001 and I went away for awhile.  I'm back.  Good luck to everyone.

i have no interest in a challenge with pretend money... cant believe you guys do...

he will throw those fake Live wagers in there on you guys, with no way to keep him in check..

I'm in, as long as its not just people posting plays with no actual system or strategy.  You should have to explain your system and how it comes up with the plays.  In other words no so called computer picks!!!!

I would love to try this challenge, however I would like to make my minimum wager to be 35.00 as I will be trying 4 consecutive 2 game parlay martingale sorta system. Prob will fail but could be fun trying

Holy shit was I ever drunk when I wrote this. Christmas night at my dad's was hella fun!! I remember passing out on the bed and then woke up at 9am and saw the message on my laptop screen. Read it and said, eh, what the fuck whatever. Submit. HaHa

So.. if ya'll want to still do this I suppose it will be fun. There are a lot of new names on the list so maybe we will find a couple of new, good cappers. I'll rewrite the rules so they actually make sense, and if anyone has any ammendments they would like to see, please feel free to contribute. It's going to be a lot of guys posting and probably fairly hard to keep track of. We'll have to go on the Honor System for all the math, unless someone actually has the time to check it all. It wouldn't be too hard to whip up a spreadsheet for it, if I have a chance maybe I'll do one up.

Interesting idea, as a veteran here in the systems forum I do like the idea and wouldnt mind participating. However, should be some rules regarding lines & outs used as reference.

As someone else said, live wagering for the purpose of record integrity and the variance/availability of these lines should be eliminated. Not trying to stirr shit, I know you play these alot kreatture so not direct towards you at all, but it was a valid point.

As for the person who said we should divulge reasoning/systems behind picks, its a great idea as well but not a realistic/reasonable idea. Some information should be kept secret and by requesting this you may scare off some sharp posters who would otherwise participate.

I will participate myself... I am off on saturday for a couple weeks in the sun but will post.
