Curios as to why you made a play AGAINST a team with a winning road record, WITH a team that doesn't have a home record above .500. This appears to be outside of your parameters. Also, since Habs dropped their previous 4 games (all vs teams with losing records), why not abandon the chase, eat 8 units, and continue on in the green?

Chaser to answer your questions:
I look at a teams Win %, Home win %, Streak, Opp win %, Opp Road win % at the time of the first game of the homestand. So I had:
MTL:
Record: 11-10 (I count OT and Shootout losses as losses). Win % = .524.
Home Record: 6-4 for .600.
Streak: Loss of 2 games.
Opponents of the first 4 games of the homestand:
OTT: 9-12 (Overall Record). 3-8 (Road Record).
NYR: 8-10. 3-4.
BOS: 13-8. 6-4.
NJD: 7-13. 4-5.
Overall Win % of MTL opponents: .463 (37-43)
Road Win % of MTL opponents: .432 (16-21).
So the Criteria(s) that fit that made us play ON MTL is:
MTL win% > .500 AND Opp Road Win % < .500. (.524 > .500 AND .432 < .500 is TRUE).
MTL home win% > .500 AND Opp Road Win % < .500. (.600 > .500 AND .432 < .500 is TRUE).
As to why I didnt abandoned the chase after mid-chase they have fallen below criteria, simply because I have never dropped a chase when doing this strategy. I am open to the idea of it and may look back at my previous years to see how many losses/wins would be taken away by doing so.
I posted this system in this thread to get advice and an outside perspective, so much thanks for the input chaser!

Certainly not the game we wanted with Carey Price struggling the entire game. But we move on...
Keep in mind that now we are post thanksgiving, our criteria will change slightly...
Play for a win if Win % is > .500 AND Home Win % > .500.
Play for a loss remains the same criteria.
We also add a Double Dip feature to post thanksgiving as well, meaning if we close a chase out and the team still has at least 4 games remaining to the homestand, we will have another chase with that team if the criteria fits.
