normally the suggestion is 2% to 5% of the bankroll.  but with steeper bets like the ones where it takes like 8$ to make 1$ then I think maby 1% of bankroll probably should be used.

Max, no worries, you've been great

I've been around a couple years, but only starting to post this year since I'm starting to save up some money to invest. Having graduated now and working, which gives me a little more time to focus on it without feeling too guilty.

I have my sketicism on the stock market at this point and unfortunately work in banking which makes it difficult to trade even if I wasn't skeptical.

Sports wagering is the current market where I feel I can invest where information is more open than what companies decide to reveal.

Thanks for all your help to everyone's questions, it really is appreciated.

    Agree JV..........

    Now to Rm..........
A unit can be whatever you want to be and in accordance to your BR divided up evenly
It is up to us individually how we apply our units to wagering
To you a unit could be worth so much and for me and different amount.
Therefore using units in our posts keeps things simple for everyone out here following along
There are people that do post monetary amounts and I have no problem with that
The ones that are consistent with posting monetary amounts make the same sense and I modify their amounts to my BR accordingly
As long as you understand the strength of the play one way or another -  that can be the difference between you being in the money or in the red
As you hang around here and other places yo will catch wind of how other pros utilize their units in according to their BR's MM strategies
As the seasons rotate around year over year you can raise your units if your BR has grown and then you can experience exponentially how you can turn a small BR into a 5 or 6 digit BR with in a few years as long as you make money consistently throughout the calendar year  with all sports

Takes time but you can reach the land of

    MILF'S & HONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!

The trick is with Wall St is to always stay liquid and be in control of your own portfolio
Don't leave it with nobody else to manage
For me as long as a you kept up on the current events and are knowledgeable about what your dealing with you will make mad loot.
I taught myself about all the markets and will forever look to be a student of the game
I have no college degree but can talk to my friend who has a masters in business finance like I was in class with him
Yes you do have a point with sports investing pertaining information wise
    But...................
That's why the game is played and all the research in the world couldn't of save me from losing 40 units alone on the Phi eagles ML -1000 against Oak the other week
Execution is the key with sports.
Different capping techniques or money management strategies can overcome these tough losses and help you build your bankroll in the long run
If you do understand the markets whether in charts or news releases then you can too catch early moves and get out in time with your profits.
Screw what the companies or the rating agencies. Good insight on not blindly trusting them
When they speak......... Listen in between the lines. The pros know what they are saying and therefore move and shake the markets
I'll PM you later with how I would attack the street and other financial markets
    Easy money man...........
Either going by the fundamentals or the technical it doesn't matter.
As long as you have a game plan even being short on time like me you can still make money while your asleep.......... Literally

Sports betting is no different to me then investing with the markets.
    Well...........
    No capital gains taxes -
Otherwise I apply similar behavior - fiscal discipline - and outlooks to sports betting - its a marathon not a sprint
Its only a different vehicle to invest with

Most people gamble on sports - not me..... Well accept for the F*ckng Eagles play I went against my own principles and beliefs and deserve it

    Catch you around yo.............

    jv040
    ....................
    Not really
I think in the beginning of the system last year the ATS was tracked with a winning % of around 61 or so give or take
Then I believe it evened out
    Tell ya what though man.............
Those ML plays did come through in the clutch and made a believer out of me
I mean so many favs lost the ATS but won SU
Especially those nail biters with in the last few minutes   .........Yikes
But after a while they will put some hair on your chest and you will enjoy the wins
After all the record speaks for itself
I am also thinking of more ways to hedge any losses on top of the ML parlays and teasers by adjusting a little some MM strategies.
    Just me.........
This is a SU system with no chases or different MM strategies
    Just the basics
    But where there's a will.............
    There's a way.......

I think in the beginning of the system last year the ATS was tracked with a winning % of around 61 or so give or take

    Max,

    Definitely homie...nice post.

    Look forward to your PM.

In the meantime, I'm structuring a few strategies at this point. When I get a chance in the coming weeks, I'll PM them to you, if you happen to find a few minutes laying around it would be great if you ggave me some feedback on them (always like fresh, objective opinions).

Other than that, this NBA ML System, I'll hit it up in the new year and go for the ride. I mean I hate the times where you are completely againnst the play. But riding on ML favorites, I'm guessing it shouldn't happen all that often.

Thanks again, and may you prosper always

Thanks for askng........... No problem - always willing to help

    Disclaimer:
To be honest I don't trade - though I seek to
Several years ago I was looking to so that is why I applied myself diligently to understanding the Wall St. game so I can trade with the pros
Then life kind of shitted on me form all angles and I had to fall back from the game and focus more on work and trying to stay on top of thins in life. You know the basics
So I have been out of the investing game for a few years but still try to pay attention to whats going out there cause its so fun to see through the matrix
Even with sportsbetting - I don't have much time to capp games for how I would like but rather I adjust and find other ways to be successful with in my means
When I build my bankroll further then I can take more time off of work as I start to use my BR as sort of an income and I can then focus on getting my weight back up with Wall St. and stuff as I then look to start doing damage over there too.
But this all takes time - no rush
Time must be our friend and not our enemy - if we get impatient, we will come out on the losing end no matter what.

    Margins are a motherf*cker
You would need a 5, 6, or 7 digit portfloio to make some real money trading
Preliminary speaking I came up with this game plan
To learn sportsbetting and build a big enough bankroll with in a few years where therefore I can diversify out and start an account with forex trading
That to me is the next market I can utilize margin wise for investing
After being successful with the 1st 2 for a few more years I will then look to look to branch out my profits again into other financial markets like futures - options - stocks - fixed income - commodities and so forth
They require of course thousands of dollars per market if you really want to make a difference
Stocks alone to make more than 3 trades a week you need a minimum of  $25,000  in your account at all times
    Sucks - SEC regulations

If you already have an idea on the markets - cool
    If not - whoooaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MM strategies will not help-  fall back bro.............
It is imperative that you understand how the markets flow whether through reading the charts or going by the fundamentals

Take my advise with a grain of salt
After I dish it check it out over time and see if I make sense or not with my investing strategies. They speak for themselves. I am no wiz but do know what I'm talking about and would be filthy rich if I did have a portfolio to start with a few years ago but still am a nobody who is a student of them game humbly speaking
I have no college degree and love it
Who needs them - that's another story I could go off on a diatribe about that
Point is to be successful at something you must teach yourself all the facets of your interests. Study and apply like as if your life was on the line with a gun to your head
As an example I know a lot about a lot of things in life so I don't get screwed when I need to:
    Buy or sell a house
    Workout and get proper nutrition
Invest with the markets or real estate
    Repair on my vehicle
Vote against a certain scumbag politician
In a nutshell the basics in life

At the end of the day if you want to be in control of your success - then grab it by the horns and run with it

    Your on the right track..............

    ................... Hahaha - good stuff
No matter how wise some say to be - there is always somebody else wiser

    - my bad
    Already Thursday
Decompressing after my Phillies gave the World Series away like that
Those Damn  (210 million dollar a year payroll)  Yankees aren't that good but the Phills just didn't play their best ball and layed some eggs out there   (could of been more of a competitive series)
7 days in a row of being glued to tube with my Eagles - Flyers - and Phillies - screw the 76ers
Lost track with a lot on my plate and wondering if I am in the process of slowly biting off more than I can chew

    PM's coming up later tonight
Still working putting some things together
I am idiot with computers so on more than some things it takes me while
And networking with others around so we can too get faster results from back testing systems
More heads we got to back test - the better
Gonna send you a lot to digest - but just stand outside of the box and gauge it for yourself and let me know what you think
Also my bad for the holdup on my Wall St. angles
I'll send them over tonight too but make sure you look over post #34 to see where I am coming from with them
    ..................

As for the NBA ML system plays...........
It was stated not to play til Feb for the most profiting results
But last year it was tried wit starting during Dec with still optimum results
So at least I will wait til then to see what's up and get things rolling

Trying to work on other systems too to share with ya'll with most current sports that hopefully can build our bankrolls too.

This system is still almost a month or so away til we get enough games in to have an accurate account of who's who for the system

jv040 - this one's for you my man............ - good idea
I am preliminary tracking this same formula with some NHL plays so far and looks promising but only after 2 days - big whew.......
Need to some back testing which will be tedious but the motivation is there. We could have something here guys but I could be just full of hope and change - lol

Check back down the road and if this passes the smell test then we'll rock this too

      But for now just..............

Already elsewhere it has been kicked up a little using last year's stats and the bankroll got fubarred Pulp Fiction style
    Ouch..............
But I do love and respect whats going on out there
Some are enjoying it on a wild ride of ML parlays SU wins and losses with their BR's all over the place. They're chillin and having fun until the system starts even he gave it a shot a little including last years stats. But they got banged though
Others are more patient and hanging in there doddling with other plays having fun too waiting for the system to get going.
The more time waited - the more profitable
Was stated to wait until Jan but last year actually started earlier in Dec so I think it will be given a shot again but light in the beginning to see how things go

In the meantime I am tracking the NHL using this similar formula  (thanks to JV040)     and its looking good so far but unable to back test.
If anyone can the community would gladly appreciate it
I have a question though about the NHL's calculations in another thread I just posted here

thats all good I hope it works out. I'm working on a few systems of my own I will let everyone know too if I come up with somthing that works.I'm going to attempt to come up with a parlay system too for nba I hope.  I read in rustycapps thread that mostly low level odds lost using the nba 35 % system.  what do you think about mabey taking the 2 highest osdds and point spread betting moneyline of course and parlaying them.  I think this might be a good thing to paper  test in forum this year.

    All about it
Some facts on last year's thread
Using the system it was stated by Husker who brought it about that when it calculated with a final result of .50 or more that it only lost once in 5 years.
Which could answer your question about which strong games to parlay on the ML but this  #  isn't too frequent though
And that was the Celtics late last year mailing it in at ML -800
Added to other smaller ML losses it was advised to pull out before the season ends which makes sense
Of course with results of .50 or more we would be dealing with steep ML's
    That can be done
To give them credit too they parlayed ML's from one night into another  (if enough weren't available that one night)  and did if I'm correct 6 and/or 12 point teasers too as hedges to the single ML losses

    About those pucks..........
So far now with about 20 games in I have not had many games that qualified for over a week now...........
Marginal results with nothing to write home about but as we know the NHL is a different animal the NBA
Like MLB dogs seem to to bark more in the NHL compare to the NBA on the ML's
But at least the ML's aren't that steep
I have been including OT losses into the SU records for this system and a dog ML system that I am tracking too
Only seldom has both of these systems had a play going against each other so I lay off
What I just done was to lower the qualifying  #  to .25 and see what that gets me instead of  .35 for the NHL just to get more plays in because from what I see those OT losses do eat into the overall SU winning  %
At the end of the day the verdict is still out............

On a side note I am pondering too of somehow to incorporate these factors into some system  (or maybe the two I am tracking somehow separately)  for the NHL

To give them credit too they parlayed ML's from one night into another  (if enough weren't available that one night)  and did if I'm correct 6 and/or 12 point teasers too as hedges to the single ML losses

looks like they started tracking this system on the other forum a few days ago. so far its 10-0  SU  I think we could start posting tomorrow.  it looks like parlaying 2 and 3 teamers would work out well.

    .................
Damn't - I just checked over there the other day too
    Cool - thanks
Heading out tonight to party it up like its 1999 so I won't be around
Yeah if they're down - why not argue..............
I will start tracking for record purposes with ML's and units to give an example to those out there that its ok to bet ML's
But to be safe for me personally I won't play them until next monday
    Just me though............

Was just over at the Den and posted about how somebody took the reg line in NHL cause the ML was too steep
Nothing against the guy - he seems to be onto something hopefully and will be doing a 4g in 6d thread too - I wish him the best
After all how many of us took the RL's in MLB because of too steep ML's only for the team to win by 1 run
My point was that he'll be so mad if his team wins in OT
I suggested as a hedge then to take the draw line too risking like a quarter to a half a unit just in case
    Moral of the story ????????
This system put some hair on my chest with ML's and I am not scared of them no more
    Takes money to make money.................
If you believe with in a system and the MM enough then no ML's should impede  us towards reaching the summit

Yes........... They can say what they want but the results will speak for themselves
If you want too.......... Help yourself in posting too
Don't have time for now to look into but yeah - you got it.........
Parlaying and maybe some teasers could add some insurance too
    Lets rock n ross !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    .............. Good work my man
    .................
Where you get those lines ???
    I'm using bookmaker

    Short on time
It is early so there could be more losses then usual in the beginning
This was a very successful system last year
Best to start with in a few weeks from now
Already one big FISHY loss on Dal the other day
Was stated at BETUS how the ML went from -1500 down to -1100 with in a half hour and Dal loss
    Hmmm........
The ghost of Time Donahe strikes...........

I am not playing these yet personally for another week or two by then with more games under the belt this system should be more accurate

Each to win 1 unit on the ML
Fade - play or follow along with me on the sidelines to see how things are

I agree I think it should be tracked for a couple weeks and bet when it's more stable.
