MLB First Innings system

Has anyone ever looked at a system involving scores in the first innings in MLB games?  I have just started looking at this over the past week and have seen an inordinate amount of scoring in the first inning.  Just wanted to see if anyone has ever looked into this.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
