7-2 Time Zone Trend

this was posted a few years back and I have always tracked it...
Usually there is only 1 or 2 games a week that fit...
 
When a team jumps across 2 time zones to the East and the game is at 1pm.....take the home team no matter the line
the theory here is that the road team is playing a game at what feels like 10am to them......
 
so far this season it is 7-2
 
and the Chargers fit the bill this week....Take the Bills +1

okay.....change on the current season.....
 
when a team jumps 2 time zones it is 5-1
when a team jumps 1 time zone it is 2-0
 
'07-'08
2 time zones 8-3
1 time zone  8-8
 
'06-'07
2 time zones 6-3

which games are you counting this season.  More and more teams are staying on the coast if possible after the last game.  I know the cardinals did it after the washington game they stayed on the east coast and played the jets at 1pm.  Even though the jets covered this is an example of a non play.  I think there was another team who did this so I was just wondering what teams you counted this year.

Do you know the record for 2005, 2004 and 2003?

My data base has weeks 5 to 17, 1996 to present. It shows Eastern time zone teams at home with  64 wins and 41 loses ATS (61%) when hosting Pacific time zone teams.No adjustment for time of game.

Btw another guy in covers forum also posted this system but he says it's 3-1 this season. Isnt it 7-2?

it all depends if you count denver and arizona.  i would leave it strictly to west coast teams crossing all 3 time zones.  the tricky thing is, which is why people have different records posted, is that arizona does not partake in daylight savings time, meaning they never change their clocks.  so there are times when arizona is a 3 hour difference and times when they are only a 2 hour difference.  i posted something similar and did not count arizona.

We better dont count Denver I guess. But lets count Arizona because of daylight save time thing. This system looks very good but we better keep it confidential.

Arizona and Denver are counted in the games where a team only jumps 2 time zones....
 
the full jump across the country is 5-1 this season....
 
and yes the Giants are a play today too

okay....so we got it at 5-1 and we have 6 games left....I am expecting some loses in there for sure....
 
I say this finishes 9-3 or 8-4
