    leaning:

    Proline -

    Jets @ 2.90
    GB @ 2.55

...maybe ties in the Raven/Pats and Eagles/Cowboys games...

    Pt. Spread -

    Jets +2.5
    GB +1.5

been reading some great arguments for the Jets side and Bengals side. Weather is going to be cold to freakin' cold...maybe a little precipitation, which leans to a ground and pound game.

going with Proline tie and sticking with the Jets +2.5

Also leaning more to the tie in the Pats game.

Tough to get a handle on this week's games just because of the back to back situation, but here's what I'm thinking:

Jets win: the Bengals have to be the biggest fraud team in the playoffs, and they showed it last Sunday. Jets ran wild over them and I expect the same this week. I would be surprised if Mark Sanchez hits double digits in passes completed.

Eagles win: Donovan McNabb doesn't have a problem with the first round - it's the second and third rounds where he usually blows up.

Patriots win: Wes Welker being out doesn't help, but they've still got Randy Moss. Plus, Baltimore has way too many injuries to overcome. This should be the highest scoring game of the week.

Packers win: The hottest team going into the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre will meet again.

Looks like we're on the same exact games. GL to us!

smacked the Jets on Pt Spread and on line but changed my lean and went with the tie in Proline.

got the Cowboys win/tie on Proline...with the Pats and Packers SU.

Took the Pts on the Cowboys (with the Pats)  and a little ML action online.

A few thoughts on the Ravens-Patriots game...I obviously have the Pats winning, and covering in a high scoring game. I rolled over my online Dallas winnings to the over 43 total in the Pats game (+ a little ML on the Pats) so I got a bit of cash riding.

Weather is going to be fine. I keep reading about the Ravens only needing single coverage against Edelman. Doesn't matter...Ravens are too banged up, lack speed on D and don't get enough pressure with the pass rush. Edelman and Faulk will get a lot of balls thrown their way and eat up yardage. I think we'll see Brady spread the ball all over the field, taking moderate chunks all day long and really open up the run with Faulk and Maroney on the outside...and get Moss his touches. I also don't think the Pats will face many 3rd and long situations...also expecting the Ravens to have a bit of success on O...and we'll see over 50 pts scored...

ManRam24 has a nice little writeup in the pro football forum on the Packers winning. Going to wait on the outcome of the Pats game before I get all crazy on that one. Liking the Packers SU in Proline even though the line has shifted to them being a 2 pt fav and offering decreased value.

    Tom Brady Lobbying Officials. Again.
Do you recall Tom Brady lobbying an offical for a roughing the passer call against Terrell Suggs? Rodney Harrison said at the time, "Horrible call. You can't make this call. And Tom Brady, if you're listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks. Toughen up."

Well Tom is at it again. "Oh, I'm begging for preferential treatment if they'll give it to me," Brady said. "I just don't think they'll give it to me all the time. So I'm trying to butter up to those officials before the game and during the game so that we do get a call once in awhile. If it helps our team win, I'm all for it."

    Just awesome.

    update

Ravens +3.5...and SU think the winner here blows the other team out

ravens will be to physical for pats today and if officials let both teams play and not chuck flags for touching brady ravens have a shot

got this from Baltimore sun so bit biased

    Scouting Sunday's officials

Based on officiating trends, the Ravens won’t have to worry about roughing-the-passer penalties when they play the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady in the playoffs.

The officiating crew that will oversee Sunday’s game -- which is headed by Gene Steratore -- has called three roughing-the-passer penalties in 15 games this season. Only three other officiating crews called fewer in the 2009 regular season.

Three months ago, it was Ron Winter’s crew that flagged the Ravens twice for roughing-the-passer. His group led the NFL with nine roughing-the-passer penalties this season.

"Asked if about the public perception that the Ravens have to battle the Patriots as well as the officials, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, “We don’t believe in that. We’ve got a tough, hard-nosed, hard-playing bunch of guys. We play good, clean football. It’s an intense game, but we expect to play a good, smart game.”

Steratore’s group has also called 10 pass interference penalties, which is the sixth-fewest among the 17 full-time officiating crews in the NFL.

Given all the discussion last week about the officials protecting Tom Brady, it seems unlikely that the Patriots will have that advantage today. Brady isn't going to be able to dictate penalties the way he did in October. The officials are under the microscope, too, and they can't show partiality on the big stage??????????????

guess we're clashing on the side there...here's hoping they trade 7s all day...and the Pats score one more than the Ravens.

...just for shits and giggles I have a prop bet with K. Faulk scoring the first TD @ +1000.

    Look at Baltimore's wins:

Kansas City, @ San Diego (Wk. 2 when Chargers were still struggling), Cleveland, Denver, @ Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, @ Oakland

Okay, the Patriots didn't beat a single playoff team either, but the difference is... 8-0 at home and 27-21 W over Baltimore in Wk. 4

Ravens are too banged up and not as dominant on 'D' as they once were. I'd be very surprised if the Patriots don't put up at least 30 on them: Patriots and the Over.

What are your thoughts on the GB/ARZ total?
