Hit a small 3-game winner yesterday with Habs, Astros, and Twinkies ($25 wager paid $88), so with some decent games on the board today, i'll post my plays/leans...
Habs @ 1.50
Don't buy into the hype... yes, the Bruins played a better game yesterday, but the Habs are clearly the dominant team. Yesterday's game was all about the PP... Boston got back into the game on a 5-3 advantage, and up until the OT goal, the league's best PP unit was 0-10... that won't last. Plekanec has been dominant on the draw, and Kovalev seems to be hungry for the puck... on a short rest with weary legs, the BETTER team takes advantage. Habs are 10-0 against the Bruins this season, outscoring them 46-19...
Oakland @ 2.10
A great value play. The A's are 8-4 on the year, with 4 of those wins coming in 5 games against the Cleveland Indians. Th weather might be an issue today for both pitchers as the cool, wet, overcast skies/wind might wreak havoc on command/control.
Atlanta @ 1.55
Glavine should get his first win this afternoon. He's pitching very well, carries an 0.79 ERA, and now faces a Nationals team batting just .236 over their 9-game losing streak.
Toronto @ 1.35 & Vernon Wells @ 1.70
While i'm not keen on laying on a short number the Jays, especially with a questionable AJ Burnett on the mound (one day he's spectacular, the next, extremely ordinary), I'll roll with their clicking offense against a AAA call-up, Scott Feldman. Feldman has allowed four runs and six hits over three innings in two career appearances against the Blue Jays. Vernon went 0-5 yesterday, and my hunch is that he'll bounce back with a big effort against a minor league call-up.
