Cannot even compare those! Sorry Cowboys but that is an awful example. College sports EVERYTHING is home field. Kids get so jacked and play way beyond their means. And for the guy that mentioned football...1. Yeah like the 12th man doesn't mean anything. False starts, can't hear, etc. Football and basketball are the craziest for home field. Especially college! Soccer has 0 comparison.

dude not sure what you want to hear. Home field advantage is big no matter if youre playing soccer basketball and hide and seek. How can you tell me that thousands and thousands of people screaming for or against you isnt going to have an affect. Just the way it is. 

I am in no way racist, i have half black cousins but in certain areas in europe especially england, black people are attacked in a malicious and detrimental verbal manner. My dad played goalie in england for his college and frequently goes back and has been to over 20 EPL games. Its an out of body experience for somebody who has not been. If you havent been then you just cant understand. The away team is stepping into the lions den.

No offense but if you dont understand that, there is no getting through to you.

Sorry bud but when grown men get death threats from the fans and mafia I'm pretty sure its hard to play ANY game.  Ever seen a CBB or NFL play die for not making a right play or scoring an own goal.  Soccer is one of the scariest sports to play because there are thousands of fans that could rush the field and kill someone much easier then the security filled courts and fields we have.  Sorry but NFL and CBB might be noiser to play in but soccer is more deadly.

Cowboy, i have been to an EPL game. Man U v Arsenal a few years back when arsenal had Henry. I have also been to over 500 heat games, atleast 50 NFL games, and over 50 cbb and cfl games when i went to UF (i was there the same years as tebow) and the soccer stage in europe is flat out scary. I heard distrubing things from the crowd. Its almost impossible to understand how big soccer is in other countries. 

Imagine combining all the passion for every sport in the US and multiplying it by 20. You would still be far from it.

i wanna hear something that is fact no bullshit box players that are "afraid of playing" in a controlled environment. I understand maybe the lower leagues but not when it is EPL. So give me an example like in football where you have direct false starts/12th man in huddle/bad formation penalties DIRECTLY caused by noise and fans and players being confused and disrupting timing. Give me just one example of a soccer game where the crowd would have any influence. Players don't need to hear each other as much and if the crowd is that crazy loud it harms both teams not like football.

The only game I have ever been to was in barca when my friend and I were traveling through spain and were lucky enough to be stpped in barcalona for 10 days. Caught them play Villareal. Wasn't all that impressed. I'm sure England is more crazy but when I see some stadiums hall full it loses total merit!!! I used to think soccer fans were great and the EPL was SOOO huge. But after really seeing fans attendance it seems more liek the world is anamoured then england itself.

This is true but it also is mainly because its a European thing.

For example, in my home country in Greece, basketball is the same way your describing 20 times more passionate than it is in the states.

dude give me a break! Barca was a joke!!! I could believe some italian places but again you gusy are talking like the players are actaully scared. That is hilarious!!! The only real shit that happenes is the little timmy and his friends in the firm battling it out. Unless you play some low end division, have major gambling debts and need to throw a game, or are from a south american country it seems, you should be fine. Where are all the deaths guys? Please tell me the last major soccer player killed. Get real!

I have been to an EPL game. I have first hand experience of that scary shit. THESE ARE STILL HUMAN BEINGS. Theyre not supermen. Doesn't matter if its the EPL or the Blue square north. I really dont think i can give you an answer you want to hear. 

Did you know that Ferdinand received bullets in the mail recently? I dont give a flying fuck who you are, that has to be scary.

But come on buddy, it's soccer-kick-if the home team gets pumped up and runs full speed the whole game and tries the whole game-what can the other team do except get lucky. Same as hockey, u skate hard for 60 u can beat anybody.
It's running-it's kick. You may not be as talented, but if u can run, then u can disrupt all the other teams set ups.

Your prolly right Miami. Half because I am ignorant to the EPL (been to Spain and saw not england even though my whole moms side is from Kent) and half because you can't explain other then people being scared at a home field advantage. I just can't buy a player/team underperforming due to being scared.

Yeah this is the ONLY possible advantage I see. However I hate this notion of athletes needing to be pumped up by home crowds. Fucking pisses me off when pro players can't go hard all the time and relax. If you can't get pumped for away games you shouldn't be playing pro sports.

minion more or less its hard to play away in any sport.  If you think that the CBB and NFL are the toughest I will say that you have never been to a Europe soccer game.
