Going with a new strategy for Euros. Background info.
Back in 2022, I was in the UK visiting relatives. Of course, being in the UK where they have a BetFred, WillHill, Coral, etc at every street corner, I wagered on the World Cup. Took mostly favorites. Will never forget putting a big play on Argentina -1.5 to beat Saudi Arabia during the group stage, only to watch Argentina lose SU. None of the powerhouse teams could cover the spreads. Lost my a$$
So, my take. This is a short tournament. Powerhouse teams, like England, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Italy etc take it easy during the first couple of group stage games. They will go in, score, and coast the rest of the way. Favorites have a tough time covering. And lets not forget these guys are only human. They all went through a grueling season from August to May, then played friendlies, some of these guys barely had time off and are exhausted.
I will be on dogs, on the spread, for at least the first two group stage games, then faves start winning and covering during the last group stage game/KO stage.
And be careful betting overs. Again, powerhouse teams will just coast, knowing they have a game only a couple weeks days ahead.
I have done terribly during these tournaments but this time, I hope I can turn a profit
