Game Bets:

1.  France comes in to the opener as tournament favorites, and it is easy to point to a number of reasons why they deserve it.  But if they will have a problem - it will be on defense.  That is the only area where depth might be a problem - and players might be playing out of position.  But their midfield is as good as there is - and even though Giroud looks like he will be first choice up front and is struggling lately - there is enough behind him to feed him his typical turn and shoot type of goals.

Romania went through their 10 games of qualifying only letting up 2 goals - and amazingly  - 0 in their 5 road games.  Yes - it was a relatively easy qualifying group  -but it is still a pretty solid defensive record.  They will most certainly play 9 behind the ball at all times and not let the skill and speed of France's midfield get on any breaks.

Typically, these first round games are low scoring and played very conservatively.  I think France has a big advantage here - but I am not willing to lay a goal and half - but I am willing to bet the under at 2.5.  France will have 70% of possession - but will be happy with a low scoring win.  

France / Romania under 2.5 -120 (2 units)

I see a comfortable France 1-0 or 2-0 game.

That France / Romania game....

It was one of those games where both the over and under would have felt lucky and unlucky at the same time.  It could have easily been 2-0 after 13 minutes, and on the other hand to get 3 goals in the last 30 minutes with a ridiculous winner in the 89th...  That is hard to get over too.

In short - germany are dangerous but overpriced.  They simply lost too much since the WC.  I think they lose to France in the Semis.

I like all of these (maybe not England at that price)

Advance bets are interesting because of the 3rd place teams....

6.  N Ireland / Poland over 2 and 2.5 +105 (2 units)

7.  Germany / Ukraine no bet.  I will be betting against Germany - but just dont think this is the spot - very likely Germany 1 goal win.
