I have been holding off on taking this bet simply because I wanted to see how this team returned following the World Cup break. Initially they looked a little shaky but after this mornings convincing thrashing of Juve I can't hold off any longer.
Napoli to win @ 17.00 (best price I could find)
Even if they don't win it I still think there is huge value in that price so could find an opportunity later in the tournament to hedge.
Looking at the matchups coming up in the Round of 16, of the 5 teams ahead of them in the markets 2 of those teams will be eliminated by next round, effectively making them 3rd favourite to win it if they beat Eintracht Frankfurt. They're a decent side (E. Frankfurt), but this Napoli team is more than capable of progressing pass them over 2 legs.
Napoli have shown me that they have what you need in this tournament to succeed, which is the ability to break teams down when at home but also sit compact and hit on the counter when away or in a final. Real Madrid showed last season that possession football doesn't win cup tournaments, but Napoli are equipped to do both depending on the situation and I think that makes them an incredibly adaptable and valuable commodity in this tournament.
Further, I think the gap they've created in Serie A presents a really good opportunity for them to rest later in the season if they can maintain it. Almost all other opponents - excepting PSG & Bayern - are chasing in their leagues so will likely have little to no opportunity to rotate leading up to the final stages of the tournament. That to me is crucial, but even more so in a World Cup year when every player that was at the tournament will really start to feel it by final stages.
Outside the things you can't foresee like injuries and loss of form, being beaten by better sides on the day etc. there's one real uncertainty or negative around Napoli and that's Spalletti. As a coach he's never really proven capable of achieving any great level of success. His teams have always been fun to watch but perhaps a little too naive to win silverware. Either way I still think the price on offer more than compensate for this.

yeah some good points---City crazy short odds at +175 and just not worth it in my opinion on the onset of the knockouts, I might take a punt at Napoli +1400 in my book now...I bet them -150 to win the Scudetto during the World Cup break, and as you say down the stretch in the spring they won't have to worry about winning their own league compared to City, Real Madrid etc...Bayern at +650 but not in very good form-missing a top-notch striker; Good luck with your bet!
