Starting on Sunday January 9th. A tournament that has been very kind to me finally returns after postponements due to Covid.

24 teams will participate and as of now there is only one futures market available. To win outright.

I have made a list of teams that according to my numbers are overvalued and undervalued according to current prices.

The 4 teams that I think are overpriced that I will look to fade to start

Due to the fluid covid situation I will post my single game picks closer to game time. The only future bet I made so far is

1. Morocco to win outright @ 11.00/+1000 (1u) Bet365

2. Cameroon Win to Nil @ 2.20/+120 (1u) Bet365

The opening game of the tournament will be a narrative of Burkina Faso playing not to lose knowing on paper this will their most difficult opponent in group play. Burkina Faso come into this game unbeaten in their past 7 games. The tournament has a history of low scoring games. The 2019 tournament averaged 1.96 goals per game. Prior to that in 2017 2.06 gpg. in 2015 2.13, in 2013 2.16 gpg. The home side will press and eventually should come out victorious 1-0 or 2-0. I also want to play the Under 2 but I want that to be at even or plus money before I pull the trigger.

3. Ethiopia/Cabo Verde UNDER 2 @ 1.85/-117 (1u) Bet365

Ethiopia are the weakest side in Group A made up of largely domestic players. The plan here will be to park the bus and hope to get lucky on the counter. Cape Verde had a decent world cup qualification finishing second behind group winners Nigeria. I expect Cape Verde to have most of the possession and eventually nick a goal, although a draw here would not surprise me.

Sierra Leone sucks and Algeria is overrated, however the odds here all point to a win to nil outcome. The AH of -1.5 pays nothing. The Win to nil option also pays nothing so I'm digging deep for 2 correct score outcomes.

Both sides are evenly matched talent wise and will not want to lose the opening fixture. The trend of Unders has been pretty evident so far in this tournament, but the value is just not there unless you are betting under 1.5. Both these sides have players that can score so I'm thinking 1-1.
