PREDICTION

The grand finalists haven't lost anything from last year, other than the appearance noted disciplinarian Brian Smith can't keep the Roosters' partying in check. The Eels' new coach, Steve Kearney, will bring the Storm's rigid discipline to Parramatta, while it will continue to be the foundation of Melbourne, despite the loss of experienced players. Wests Tigers were the unluckiest team in last year's semi-finals. The Broncos have some exciting young players and a coach educated in the Bennett/Bellamy style, while the Raiders have a big pack and smart backs. The Silvertails deserve to be in the elite eight because they are the only Sydney club seeking to make a cultural difference with the other beige outfits.

Veteran winger Matt Utai, who did not play in the NRL last season, is the Tigers' only off-season signing. However, the emergence of young forwards Simon Dwyer, Andrew Fifita, Aaron Woods and Ben Murdoch-Masila, coupled with the return from injury of utility Tim Moltzen, give them the depth to go one game further than they did last year and make the grand final.

PREDICTION

Under the newly formed independent commission, the game's income will grow significantly through new television and sponsorship deals as well as through innovative promotional ideas. However, expansion will be put on hold until at least 2015 as the new body looks to reward the players and existing clubs before introducing extra teams.

Wests Tigers had 600 injuries in there first 3 games and still won 2 of them,looks like they are destined for grand final greatness no matter how many injuries they have and its all because of this thread
