    So what are people's thoughts on what is basically the finals (only wales or france to beat after this match) in Australia vs New Zealand. Clearly the two biggest teams in this cup and they now face off before the grand finals. Who will win and go on to take the world cup?

    My opinion, it is actually quite evenly matched taking aside the home advantage with Carter and Slade and Muliana all out of the ABs side. Australia have...to be honest...played shit. Losing to Ireland then scraping a lucky win over RSA is no way to make the semis.
    However, we have seen some flashes of brilliance out of this world cup. The trinations comes to mind almost instantly which is why (with the injuries and excl home ground) I give them equal chance.

    What do others on covers think?

    I would have thought France will take Wales but the TAB thinks otherwise. TAB has the AB's line at -8.5!! Would have thought it'd be closer than that...

    Obviously NZ are deserved favourites but they have been deserved favourites every World Cup and as we know haven't won since 1987. They are under enormous pressure to perform.

    The injuries (particularly to Carter) can only have added to their self doubts.

    Unquestionably NZ are the worlds best team yet again. That does not necessarily mean that they will be holding up "Bill" in a couple of weeks time!

    If this WC wasn't in NZ, I don;t thikt eh All-Blacks would be such the fav.  That said, there don't make a habit of losing on their home soil so it's hard to back against them.

    The All Blacks haven't lost at Eden Park since 1994 by the way, I don't see the All Blacks losing, even with the injuries they've had.

    It's looking more likely that Kurtley Beale is going to be out for the match as well, but we'll see in the next couple of days.

    Saw a funny little stat, half the wallabies wasn't even born the last team they won at Eden Park.

    Plus like goatie said, beale is out (20% chance of playing) but in cold weather, winds, rain etc he won't play imo and the aussies will find it harder to compete than the ABs.

    Also think about how many tackles the Aussies made last game and will be battered from SA.

    Beale would be a considerable loss but the position can be covered. I'd move O'Connor to fullback, Barnes to inside centre & Ashley-Cooper to wing. Looks pretty balanced.

    Even if the Wallabies pay a combined NZ schools XV on Sunday they won't beat them. It's at Eden Park

    Wallabies = NO CHANCE

    Feeling at least a 10 point margin victory for the all blacks, the way the wallabies have been playing just hasn't been convincing at all

    I'm pretty sure the All Blacks worry more about not having won a WC since 1927 than Australia do about Eden Park.

    Hasnt every team in world cup history that has beaten the defending champs in the qtr final gone on to win the cup?
