How obvious was this fix? Imagine others who are better planned and better equipped and NOT as greedy and stupid as Tandy, Ayoub and Elias?

For once I agree with you. Very lame and disappointing penalties.
They needed to send the message and they havn't. If something similar happened in the US the penalties would be far more severe.
They have it right on this and we don't IMO.

The 12 months community service has been dropped because of his bad knee.

He only has been fined $4k and 12 month good behaviour bond.

Was the judge on on the fix as well?

Why is anyone suprised by the sentence? He tried to defraud just over $100k. Compare this to other fraud cases

IF you looked at that first scoring option before kick off, noticed it got hammered, then suspended and saw what happened after, it would be obvious.

which proves that if games are fixed, like you claim, then those who know the markets will be fully aware of any rorts and more instances like this would occur

But games aren't fixed, they are just figments of your imagination

Correct, but how many players are stupid beyond belief to place such large amounts of money on illiquid markets like penalty goal? While Ayoub, Elias were at it, why didnt they put $1000k on 1st scoring play as a field goal? Oh, that one would be too obvious.

No, markets which have a large number of transactions through it are the ones to attack. Head to head, line and over and under. If a market has a couple of hundred of thousands through it, what is so suspicious about a $20k hit through it? If only your eyes have seen what mine have. I KNOW FOR A FACT THEY DO.

Correct, but how many players are stupid beyond belief to place such large amounts of money on illiquid markets like penalty goal? While Ayoub, Elias were at it, why didnt they put $1000k on 1st scoring play as a field goal? Oh, that one would be too obvious.
But games aren't fixed, they are just figments of your imagination.

Unless you are beyond stupid, then it is IMPOSSIBLE to get caught. There isnt even a damn anti corruption unit in any of the codes.

Oh lets see, there is a very fishy incident involving the roosters a few years back, what was the investigation? After Gallop and Annesley get up from under the table after giving Politis a polish at Ice bergs, there was nothing further to investigate?

What about Tim Donaghy, he was doing it for years and years and years and ONLY got caught by pure accident. The FBI were investigating a criminal case and only by accident heard a conversation with Donaghy and the rest is history.

You think the NRL's internal controls are anywhere near as sophisticated as the NBA's?

The reality is, if he never got caught, he would still be reffing today, still fixing games, i would be crying fix and you would be calling me deluded......

A 20K bet is suspicious if the source is unknown. There are a few big league punters, not many, and if somebody oustide of these wants to get on then alarm bells will ring

You know nothing of risk and book management. Bets don't just go through. Limits are in place to prevent anything over a certain limit going on

The guys managing books are not dumb, and they diodn't come down in the last shower

You know nothing for a fact.

Is that your response? One big punter hates his guts, another is owed money by him, another is not even in this country. Yeh, the figments of your imagination are not even close here.

I will say this, and you can draw your own conclusions to whatever you want.

    "Youre a good sort"

    "You owe me an apology"

Do you think the Australian bookmakers are the ONLY ones that bet on NRL?
