I am in a horrible slump.

    4 straight losses.

2 of those by one try where a player picked up a ball 90 metres out and scored.

So Souths off the kick off down 18 with 13 mins to the Sharks goal line,

Yet the Sea Eagles on Mon night scored did a short drop out down 12-6 with 33 mins to go resulting in a penalty and me losing my bet

Sharks are the 2011 version of the 2009 Eels or more recently the 2010 Chooks. Gonna ride them for a bit, and the Panthers...

I have said once, i have said it twice, overs and unders in an NRL game have become complete games of luck.

There is NO physical way teams can now score 7 legitimate well constructed tries, it is now impossible.

Then u say, well why dont you just take unders, well, here is the catch, i said well constructed tries.

The only way NRL games go over is via tries off bombs where the ball bounces, deflects off shoulders OR tries come off forward passes OR someone picks up a ball and runs 80 metres and score.

Those 3 things i mentioned CANNOT be capped.

If you take an over, do you say, i dont think the offenses are equipped to score 7 legitimate tries, BUT i anticipate the refs will miss a coupke of forward passes or someone will pick up a ball, run 80 metres and score or like last night the Panthers will get a nice perfect bounce for them to score a try off a chip?

This is exactly how the TAB want it, exactly how they want it.

    Score my f###ing ass...

Did u watch that game? They scored 2 tries off kicks where the ball bounced off a shoulder and landed in someones lap for a try. One of those wasnt even a try that night. I even had the sharks that game.

It is gonna come down to Manly, Storm or Dragons and outof those who is gonna get the most luck on the day

A wins a win. A scores a score. Doesn't matter if the ball bounces off the grandstand or Glenn Munsie's arse before it lands in someone's lap for a try.

The last few GF's have come down to an upstart and a given. Sharks easily fit into the upstart category, they've got the talent, it just needed to come together with the addition of a decent half...

Now the over under in the Drags game is 23.5.

There is NO physical possible way these teams this afternoon can score 3 LEGITIMATE tries in the second half. No way.

The only thing holding back is, what if they score off a bomb where the bomb bounced off a few people, or pick up a loose ball and run 90 metres?

I may as well go and play roulette......

As i have said millions of times on here, the game has come to a point where the result is almost determined by luck.

This is exactly what the NRL wanted. They want a situation where no one knows who is gonna win on the day.

What best way to do it? Turn the game into a game of mud wrestling, try and keep it as close as possible and let a lucky bounce or lucky deflection dtermine the outcome of the game.

As i said, if i was an NRL coach i would spend 95% of my week wrestling, strangling, and jumping the line. F### offense, it doesnt exist in the game.

Ask yourself, you have a team that has the NSW halfback, NSW fullback, last years Dally M winner at 5/8 and a very capable hooker, YET, this team hasnt scored more than 13 points in 12 weeks?

Are u f###ing shitting me? What kind of comp is this?

I would have to say generally, only the raiders and only the titans have poorer defenses from what i have seen, everyone else has really really good defense. The point is, everyone is defending well now, it is not hard to, cause the rules are making it easier to defend and IMPOSSIBLE to attack.

The factor that is differentiating the good defensive sides at the moment, is the luck on the offensive end, tries off kicks, bad bounces, deflections, loose balls etc.

These always were around, BUT scoring a try was much much easier before , so if you got a stroke of bad luck against you, no biggy, you could easily get it back, not now?

It is almost turning into soccer now such is the rarity of being able to score.

Even Phil Gould said the game on Friday night could be 0-0. Even he said yesterdays game between Knights and Dragons was a disgusting spectacle.

Refs are letting go on forward passes cause they know it is almost impossible to score without it these days.

The game as a spectacle has been murdered.

Its all Harrigans ego all over it

I thought the Knights / Dragons game was entertaining. Two sides ripping in and both teams cared about the result. I thought it was anything but a disgusting spectacle. I would much prefer a game like that then one where one side throws in the towel after getting behind 12-0.
