Super rugby round 12

Chiefs let their guard down last week against a 14 man Force letting in 4 tries and failing to cover. The loss leaves my record at 8 from 11.

Chiefs would have copped a tongue lashing for allowing the Force to run in so many tries and I expect their defence to be back to it's stingy best this week. Brodie is a huge loss but I just can't see Rebels having enough points in them to stay within a converted try. Rebels have been tight of late but Chiefs will definitely run up points and probably get a 4 try bonus point. If so they will definitely cover.

The bet is Chiefs -5.5 @ $1.90.

I'm grabbing it now as I can't see this price staying.

I presume you're expecting a low scoring game with Harris to get them over the line. I really can't see any way that Chiefs don't score at least 1 more try than Rebels. If it comes down to goal kicking then Rebels definitely appear to have the advantage.

Good call simple3 but would it sound terribly sour grapes if I said that every ref decision that could possibly go Rebel's way, did. Stirzaker's try was probably fair enough but more often than not would be disallowed, a couple of Chiefs knock-ons that the replays indicated did not occur that both could have resulted in tries, the yellow for "asking" the Rebel's gentleman to please let go of your jersey which was a possible 10 point call, although I do think Liam was in front of the kicker, one of the few "legitimate" 5 metre line-out mauls of recent weeks, penalised costing the Chiefs a certain try, etc,etc.

That being said, it was another solid performance by the Melbourne boys. I thought both halfbacks had great games and agree that Stirzaker keeps putting his hand up while some other Aussie 9's form is fading.

Thanks Rod for that confirmation of the refereeing. I sometimes wonder if I'm looking at things objectively watching through the hole in my pocket.
