I was talking to Jarrod's uncle on Friday. Mullen is playing wounded big time. His uncle, father and others were imploring him to have the surgery and be right for a big pre-season under Bennett.
The stubborn prick point blank refused as he honestly believes Newcastle have a few stories yet to write this year.
