Battler's NRL Round 24
the only thing StGeorge choked on was Brisbane's strangling defense
Outstanding performance from the Broncos tonight and I happily retract everything I said about them being shot to shit. It's taken them the small matter of three weeks to go from totally out of it to bettering the competition leaders.
They're in this thing up to their ears

It's too erratic over 26 weeks. Teams just don't seem to be bothered as much if they lose 2-3 matches in a row.
I have a harder time seeing angles with sides as opposed to totals. There just isn't enough information to go on, it's more of a groove thing.
Then from about weeks 6-16, I couldn't believe the percentage of matches I didn't like going over that went under.

The Broncos were good mate. But St George have fallen victim to their own hype I think. They were also 'choked' by Canberra's strangling defense for 60 minutes last week. They don't look to have many options if a side rushes up on them.

It's just easier to see possible breakdowns with matchups for overs with me. Then it dawned on me how high the strike rate was when I wouldn't even look at an over for a match and it was going under. I commented on it at the time 2-3 months ago around here.

Reckon it's a combination of reasons AB. Knights had such a dramatic lead up to that Melbourne game and coupled with the fact it was such a huge game for their finals hopes it's probably no surprise to see them being pants'd by a team that's basically in the same desperate situation the Knights were in last round (aside from the coach thing of course)

I can appreciate that JT, but they are grown men and professional athletes. Too many excuses are made for these fuckers.
