Got a mate who said perth are a good thing on the A-League tonight, for what it counts i have jumped on them on the back of his advice. apparantly the adelaide squad is young and may need a couple of weeks to find their feet.

Newcastle's season is on the line this afternoon. While a loss might not be terminal, it is getting perilously close. Although the Brian Smith affair has no doubt had some effect, I'm not buying into all the media shit that would suggest that this alone is to blame for Newcastle's recent form - the fact is they've been playing like busteds for 2 months now.

 

Their brilliant early season form has given them the opportunity to still be in the 8, despite losing 5 of their last 7. In fact, had they won last week, they would be playing for a shot at fourth spot on the ladder today.

 

Newcastle simply must win today, or risk pissing away a season that promised so much.
