I think the odds were a subtle hint as to what might go down in that Nadal v Federer match last night.
Nadal opened at 1.40 some places, and for a guy of his unequalled class on clay, to be that generous a price against his "bunny" on all surfaces (Federer) suggested the door was open for an upset.
Tennis seems to be a little sneaky like this at times. I've noticed on quite a few occasions just glancing over prices that they can be very suggestive. And a lot of the time it's matches where you think player 'A' should be $1.15 and he's $1.35 or $1.40 as was the case last night.
It's a bit like the NBA can be at times in that regard, where you can almost work in reverse from the odds.

it was the same speed as Paris. The only difference was altitude, but both players had games all week to adapt

Well he did just play a 4 hour match.
Anyway I get a better price on betfair for Nadal outright to win RG
