I mentioned earlier that game two is the best game of every Origin series. That isn't strictly true, but what is true is that the series is always on the line in game two. Someone can either win the series or keep the series alive. It's intense, it's nerve-wracking, it can be bloody delightful and it can be heart-breaking. It breaks my heart, but I think the Blues can repeat their heroics from game one and take the series in front of the Blue Army.

he Blues have the stability and the quality to win Game 2 however their opposition will be desperate and will pose far more questions with and without the ball than they did in Brisbane. New South Wales cannot afford to underestimate the fierceness and intensity that will fuel their opposition. Queensland can control the tempo and build and sustain pressure. They have a handful of proven match-winners at this level. New South Wales can win but it will be no walk in the park.

he Blues are more than deserved favourites back at home where they will be hoping to close out the series. There is no doubt that they have the dominant forward pack, and should once again run roughshod over the Maroons. But the inclusion of Slater and Thurston simply can’t be underestimated. The Blues should win, but from a punting point of view, a Maroons side with Slater, Thurston, Cronk, and Smith is value any time they are outsiders.
