Hindsight is a wonderful hing and I did not have a bet on this game but I am a Geelong man and I like to think I know my side pretty well.
I reckon we have been terribly overrated for the entire season.
I know that may come back to bite me on the backside saying that but I honestly felt the game on the weekend was a 50/50 contest. If I was going to put money on the match, I would have taken the Pies +17.5 and also backed them in on the money line. Obviously would have lost the money line but the game was in the balance until the final minute. Geelong player keeping the ball in play on the wing is what setup the match winning goal.
I think we probably win our next match in the preliminary final but that will only be due to the fact Melbourne will be banged up. Their best player is currently playing with a broken leg so he will not be breaking the game apart.
I am putting money on Collingwood to win the flag. I think they beat Fremantle and will then do just enough to shock Sydney in Sydney. I honestly believe they will pump us in a re-match.
If we do play Sydney, I would also put the house on the Swans to win it. Geelong are a different team in the finals. A lot of players who seize up in the moment and do not handle the pressure.
Blicavs, Stanley, Hawkins, Bews, Miers, Dangerfield, Guthrie, these are players who star when it's not do or die. Different players when it's a must win.
