First year of this div rivalry and the Wings are down 2-1 in the series. That would make this the last time they see each other. Babs being the old school type of guy will have nightmares if he lets a lesser rival welcome him to his new division with a 3-1 series beating.
Panthers are almost 10 pts behind so it's not quite the same as the one going on in Van city tonight but close and Babs will be saying it's more important because the Wings need the points and all 3 really.
3 pts would tie them with the slumping Habs and thats playoff/wildcard contention.
Most of the Panthers wins this year have been against tired teams or teams looking past them or coming off a big game. That shouldn't be the case here. Wings are beat up, but at this stage its nothing new.
Wings have been playing tougher teams than Fla recently and it should show in the play tonight.
