Which Stat Needed For B. Open?

Driving distance?
Driving accuracy?
GIR?
Putting?

I would think driving accuracy to setup approach shots. Your opinions?

I think 2nd most important would be Putting. 3rd would be GIR.

I could be way off base but think Driving Distance would be less important.

I'd say scrambling. its so easy on tough links courses to triple bogey on a hole and put yourself out of contention, you need a player who can hit out of the rough and save par.

Thanks. Is there a stat kept that measures scrambling ability?

Yea just go to pgatour.com they have every stat known to man that's sortable

So, for St Andrews, maybe the best stats to consider would be:

1-Scrambling,
2-Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, and
3-Driving Distance.

Do you guys agree? If not let's discuss it.
