     A win is a win for a team. It makes no difference for them winning by a TD or FG other than gamble purposes. They won, they showed they were better and could have scored a TD but did not. The fans enjoyed the game.

     That’s the right play. Just needs to knee it and kick last second field goal. Otherwise, Green Bay has close to a minute to score a TD and win the game.

    Yeah and what if he misses the field goal or it’s blocked? I’d rather take the 7 and my chances with Green Bay going all the way down the field to score

    Still so much that could go wrong a botched snap on a FG, a blocked FG, or an out right miss and that's all they'd be talking about this week.  Teams should always take what is guaranteed.  Yes I was on Lions this is why I buy the hook

    @Kaname484

    That’s 100 percent on point. They give you the TD you take it to take a TD lead. Why take the chance of a block or bad snap. I had the Packers and I got very lucky. Gibbs thank you but you also turned your ankle on the stop lmao.

    they couldn't care less about your spread ticket.. maybe blame Dan Campbell and the turnovers for your loss instead

    Perhaps some would, but analytics say that was the better odds on call, given the very high proficiency of the FGA team.

    It was obvious to anyone watching that Packers stood back and left the goal line wide open for him to score FOR A REASON!....so clearly the WISE approach would be to deny the opponent what THEY hoped for, then bleed the clock in a tie game, and take your 95% chance to win the game on a last second FG.

    This is like the 5th time at least this has happened already this season and Gibbs actually did it twice today

    Players and coaches now basically all their decisions are bad for favorite backers.

    Even the other team coach, if he's down by 10 or 11 and you have -7.5 or something like that they will kick a FG first now for some dumb reason and then they never score again, used to be go for the TD first

    They don't kick FGs, they don't do anything you want them to now. It's a crap game for betting on now because of all this BS.

    You must have missed the play before the 1st down when all the gb defenders poor acting like they tried to tackle Gibbs? new_laugh_cry

    Exactly. Much harder to recover an onside kick and score a TD vs recover an onside kick and kick a fg.

    Mahomes burned me by doing the same thing a couple of years back.  Thought I had won on the over bet and covered the line, so it was a two-for-one loss for me.  I was mad at the time, but I totally get it now.

    But the guy who lost his $10k+ parlay bet on Anytime Trevor Lawrence TD earlier this season, with over 8 minutes left in the game, was the ultimate BS crap slide ever.

    To me there is a higher probabilty for Detroit to miss the FG or have it blocked, than Detroit scoring the easy open TD and then have Green Bay score a TD in their last possession with less than a minute left ; so if I had to give the order I would make him score the easy TD instead of risking it all on the FG ; and of course some people think the opposite and say Detroit not scoring the TD was the right choice, it's all about the % of chance you give Detroit making the FG or not.

    @NutinButtLove

    Now let's see how long it takes the bookies to take that new factor into consideration and adapt the handicap / odds accordingly ; now it seems that any favorite more than -8,5 pts is riskier than past years since as long as the team leads by 9 pts or more the opponent needs to have two scoring possessions and the fav might not try to score TD's , just FG's or manage the clock
