The main chokers are Sergio and Stricker but thats only for majors. Once again they have won a bunch so hard to say they always choke.

And then someone mentioned Castro? Seriously? Dude is in his 2nd year on tour. How many guys win that soon? Not many. How long did it take Fowler? I mean is Rory a choker cuz he has played so shitty in 1st 2 rounds. What about Westwood? He has never won a major and been in contention a few times.

Golf is a fickle game boys. It can just go away in a blink of an eye and you feel helpless. Kinda of corny but its like what Shane Falco in The replacements talks about. Quicksand. That garbage is real!

well said, let us not forget when Phil was driving it off that tent in 2006 though, that was choke to me because of the magnitude of the miss. He was not even close. It will stick in many peoples mind too.

Agreed though, hard to call a guy with 40 wins and 4 majors a choker.

Can  Westwood finally do it ? Maybe  it's the Brits year, like Murray, but dude just gave away a 3 shot lead before the back nine on SATURDAY...not a good sign

Ya anyone can choke given the circumstances and certain days. If Westwood doesn't win tomorrow he'll be labeled a choker even tho its a 2 shot lead which is not much on this course! Hardly fair.. Phil is just hot and cold you never know with him.

    I disagree.
Westwood is a choker if he does not win. He has been there so many times and has not closed the deal. He is a choker til he wins his first major.
Guy has the game to get it done but never has, that is a choker.
    I think he chokes again.

Tiger is an auto fade these days. He is just not right mentally right now. It will change and he will win some more majors but until that day there is a lot of money to be made fading his a s s.
Phil looks like he is going to choke his way to his fifth title.

If you don't count today or his forty plus other victories, then yes, obviously Phil.

Nice 66 to come from 5 back to win........

Sergio Garcia will never win a major....

I had been golfing and drinking and next morning read what I posted and thought it was too much but......  To consider 1 of the best 10 golfers of all time a choker  is beyond crazy to me.  Having said that I am a huge fan so I guess that affects my opinion sometimes.  He has garbage the bed a couple  times but he has also been the victim of other guys just playing great.  Either way one of my favorite rounds of golf ever, right up there with 4 iron off the pine straw.

I honestly don't think anyone "gagged". it was just one of the great finishes in a major by Phil. 4 birdies the last 7 holes to just blow everyone away

Well the thing about "choking" is about dissapearing when it counts, and good people can do that too. People called LeBron a choker and i think we can consider him a top 10 player in the world (even when he didnt have a single ring). LeBron has now got 2 rings and is arguably a top 10 player of all time, but people still think hes a choker.

The point that most of you are missing is that golf is so much harder to play from ahead than behind. So everyone sees the comeback wins and faults the guy that was ahead.

But if you guys wanna talk about chokers like Westwood and Garcia it can only apply to majors. They have both won too many times worldwide.

Yeah, its easier if u are a mental midget. Just like tennis, just like football, just like baseball; always easier to play when ure behind coz all pressure gets taken off ur shoulders, at this point when ure behind, people expect u to lose and thats the same with golf, so for that matter theres no difference at all.

How about Charl Schwartzel.  The guy has one of the best games on

tour yet manages to never be in the hunt.
