I'm looking at picking up a new driver. I currently use an R9 with a stiff shaft. Anyone have the SLDR driver? If so, please disclose shaft make and model and if they've tried several and any info that may be of assistance. My swing speed is in the low 90s. Thanks.

Heres my take. I play the sldr 430 with the elements fire 6x. By far the best driver I have ever played. The key is I play it 11 degrees. Every driver I ever played previously was a 7.5 or 8 degree. It spins the ball so little its unreal. BUt just like all drivers a good shaft is most important. There are a lot out there and I suggest getting fit for one. If you want technical side here you go: Old driver launched at 9 and spun at 3100 rpm carried about 255 or 260. Sldr launches at 14.5 and spins 1700 and I can now fly it 275ish Pretty incredible difference. I mean I am swinging at a little better but the driver is awesome.

I hit the SLDR with the Aldila XVS6 shaft because of the higher weight which I prefer and the launch was around the 13 range consistently, but it wasn't enough to make me switch from my R1 with the Diamana B-60. A little lighter and a little less torque..but the control is a little better from what I've found....launch was in the 13.1 range

Oh yeah...carry with the R1 for me is 235-240 (I'm only 5'5" tall) and with the SLDR Aldila shaft it was about the same but I had a lot more trouble controlling it. I generally play a lower draw and am in the process of working towards a driving fade

Honesty Just by what you said the SLDR would not be right as it doesnt stay in the air if you dont spin it enough. I struggled with spinning it way too much and therefore it helped me a ton

What does the degree actually do? I hit my old driver super high. TM Burner HT. Bought a Rocketballz, adjusted the degree to 7.5 and I have a great drive. Long draw but I'm very handsy n my draws not consistent, my natural fade comes back here n there, slight left pulls sometimes bc a closed club face I believe, occasional hook.
Is my 7.5 degree setting maximizing my spin aka my accuracy

7.5? wow bubba hits a 8.5 the higher the loft the easier it will be to hit but there comes a point where the loft will lose you distance off the tee

Ya I've been messin with it a bunch lately. I was 8.5 actually I don't think 7.5 but my swings funky. Been teaching myself for 3 years n just always switching things up. Have a consistent draw lately but I have to aim far right n hook it back. Think it's just more confortable for me to close my clubfacebat impact than keep it straight. Finally gona give in to a lesson soon

To answer your question technically Loft as well as the shaft you put in your driver are to optimize your launch angle and your spin rate therefore getting the most out of your equipment. Generally the shaft that comes in your driver is garbage.
By the way QMich I went back to my 6.2x Motore Speeder tour Spec in my SLDR

Thanks NW21 and everyone else that commented. That's the kind of info I was hoping for. I have too much spin and my natural shot is too low. I'm currently using an 9.5 degree R9 and wish to get it higher and less spin. There's too many shaft options, I needed somewhere to start. I appreciate the data.
