O'Day-Speith parlay

Thinking of taking O'Day at 6-1 and hedging it with Speith at 10-1 to win the Masters. Figure both will be such huge favorites to win that this would be a good play. Thoughts?

I think you're better off playing matchups.  There's no value in taking someone at 6-1 when the field is this loaded.

Who else has a chance besides these two? Tiger? Dustin Johnson?

Adam Scott-One of the best golfers in the world right now.  Several wins this season.  Has won here before.
Phil-Has won here before...knows the course very well, and is in great shape.
Fowler-Has shown up big the last few majors...and his game fits this course well.
Bubba Watson-Has won here before...always a threat here.
Rory McIlroy-Top 3 golfer in the world.
Henrik Stenson-Striking the ball better than anyone besides Day and maybe Rory right now.
Matsuyama-Loves playing the big tourneys...finished 5th here last year.
Charl Schwartzel-Has won here before...loves this course.
Oosthuizen-Has a second place finish here, and always shows up for the majors.
Dustin Johnson-Can destroy the par 5's with his length.  He's putting better the last few weeks.
Kuchar-Has 3 top 8 finishes here the last 4 years.
Justin Rose-Finished second here last year.
Zach Johnson-Has several major wins, has won here before, and finished top 10 last year.

You can even throw some dark horses in there who have outside chances:

Cabrera Bello-his last 2 tourneys he's finished 3rd and 4th.
Snedeker-If his rib is healthy, he's one of the best golfer in the world.
Sergio-Has the ability to be near the top on Sunday.
Patrick Reed-three top 10 finishes his last 3 tourneys.

Not saying Day or Spieth won't win Beckley...It's just not enough value at 6-1 and 10-1.

I agree with "value NOT there" and also alangrrbs's list of potential winners

personally I would chance Jason Day top 5 +165 (ties win) @ William-Hill OR Jason Day under 8 1/2 -110 (has to finish in top 8) @ Westgate Superbook over the 6 -1 to win outright. pays less BUT gives you some "room to maneuver"

Spieth cracked / broke his driver yesterday (wed)

has to go with his back up / new driver.

a bit of a mind Fruck if u ask me.     Spieth has shot below par 7 out of 8 career rounds at the masters... shot par 72   the 8/8 rd

he has been playing well this season but has had some rounds in the 70s last few tournaments ...

Betting on golf is a crap shoot...

Very unpredictable.

One day a player shoots a 65 --next day 75...

Very tough to know --plus add in the weather and condition of greens, etc etc....

Just like a horse race...many variables.

So it really does not matter if you know golf or not.

Nobody is making a living betting golf...

probably THE best post EVER in this forum. I have NEVER seen a sporting event  that is as big a pure GUESS as golf. guys win or top 5 one week, blow up and miss the cut the next OR other way around looking completely lost and then winning. as stated, the variables are many and tricky AND the players themselves are skittish as race horses
